I agree. Looking forward to seeing Carlos in person. With the way you work I imagine she'll be cruising on your next visit home.

Re: The GSFMech Build
Dang! Glad you're alright, these things aren't engineered to protect the driver like the new ones are.
Is the engine ok? What was your opinion on the Gear Vendors unit. I've been mulling using one over a newer trans that has overdrive.

Re: The GSFMech Build
Yeah, I was pretty banged up, ribs are still sore. Yes the complete drivetrain was ok, all I lost was the fan, fan clutch and water pump. The gearvendor is awesome, I love it. I have a 400th so rebuilds are easy and cheap and the overdrive is icing on the cake.

Man, how did you avoid taking a steering wheel to the face? That's a big fear of mine about these things... I like my teeth.

Re: The GSFMech Build
Sorry to read about your misfortune, I was wondering what rear gears and rpm stall you were running ?

Re: The GSFMech Build
When I had the 496 in it I had Coan custom built 10" in it, stall was about 3400. I still had a 3.08 rear then. Since then I swapped out the engine for a mild 454 and stock converter for HRPT. Now has a 3.73 and a gear vendors overdrive
