Best front end Drum to Disc break conversion kit?
I need to buy the best and most complete kit to upgrade my 1970 CST, C20 3/4 ton pickup that has 8-lug drum brakes. I've just looked at BROTHERS 8-lug "DELUXE" disc brake conversion kit and POL's C20 Truck Disc Brake Conversion, 8-Lug Deluxe. Between these two and any other recommendations you may have, what is the best for safety, reliability, and durability (cost is not an option)? Thanks.

Thanks Gentlemen. Now another separate inquiry. Which is better, a 5-lug vs 6-lug? Is the 6-lug more heavy duty or is it just your preference for wheel options?

Re: Best front end Drum to Disc break conversion kit?
Great question.
I think it is personal preference. With 5 lug you will have A lot more wheel options. My choice of 5 or 6 lug would be 5 lug. Around 1970 they started 5 lug option for chevy trucks. If you are not going to use and abuse this truck , 5 lug would be my choice . Go with 8 lug if you want Heavy Duty. .

Benefit of going 6 lug is not having to change your axles or drums out back. That's the route I took. If you decide later you want some 5 spoke wheels you can change to 5 lug then.

Re: Best front end Drum to Disc break conversion kit?
Thanks. For right now I'm just changing the fronts to disc for more stopping force cause the other day I went through an intersection with the foot through the floor trying to stop the beast. I love the truck, I want to be safe, and never have this happen again. So, for the fronts from the great info you folks provided - saving me time - I'm going with 6-lug or 8-lug disc on the front. I still haven't decided who to buy them from since they all have discount specials going on right now. Thanks again gentlemen!
