Grill Question and hidden tailgate latches question

Will the 72 grills fit directly on a 69? I want to completely hide the entire front of the grill with a custom filler and it seem the the 72 frame would be a good start.
Also, has anyone used any of these hidden latches that go on the inside corners of the tailgate? I have the tailgate shaved and need to put latches on the inside.

I think You need to replace,or modify the latch support. Not sure. But other than that the grill shell fits the 69-70 front.
