I like my combo of parts.
I just thought I would put this out there for those looking to redo their truck.
I have a 1970 long bed that I redid about three years ago and I couldn't be more happy with the way it's set up. I have an L31-R GM crate engine with the factory cam. I put a summit stage 1 duel plane intake with a Holley 770 Street Avenger on it. I have long tube headers with Thrust welded mufflers and 2 1/2 in duels out the back. I have MSD pro Billet 85551 distributor with a 6AL box. I know it's over kill but I already had wired in. I've been running a Holley Mighty Mite 12-427 electric fuel pump for the last couple years without any problems. For a trans I have a TCI Street Fighter TH350 from Summit. Had a problem with the pan leaking at first but it's been good to go since I got that fixed. Also I'm running a stock converter. I still have my factory 307/308 rear with 255/70/15 tires all around. I have a good take off from a stand still with the motor idling. With 1/2 to 3/4 throttle it will jump off the line and the pipes will be talking but with the 307 rear I can still cruise the interstate with no problem. Just thought I would post this for anyone looking an old school set up with a little extra power. |
