Re: mustang vs camaro gas ank
This "spare" has served me well; compact in size and quick to install. I've used it about four times. In a couple of cases it's worked so well that I never bothered to do a "real" repair. And have you ever pulled your spare out only to find it flat? That will never happen with this - seals AND inflates:

You could also use one of these spare tire mounts on the INSIDE of your box:

Re: mustang vs camaro gas ank
A lot of new cars don’t even come with spares. Just a pump and fix a flat

Re: mustang vs camaro gas ank
Well if I want to start my truck up next month I need a fuel tank filler, cap, and a way to vent it.
What suggestions do you guys have? I'm wanting a flush mount bed fill. And I need a way to vent it. What have you guys done for your mustang tanks?

Re: mustang vs camaro gas ank
I got a little adventurous.my welding isn't great but I figured I'd try it before I bought a kit.
I grabbed the factory filler neck. I needed a filler with cap that wasn't more than 2.5 inches. The factory cap is pretty lowfile, so I measured it and decided to cut it down. The factory filler also had a tube coming off of it and I cut it off, drilled a hole in my "new" filler, and welded it on at an upward angle. Very ugly weld but it works!! I grabbed a couple pieces of wood and laid it across the bed. The wood isn't as thick as it needs to be, and the bed isn't sitting on the rubber pieces yet either. I've seen a couple flush doors that I could use in the wood and I think I'm good. Thought? Suggestions? I'm not sure where I need to run my vent line... should I put a breather on the end too?

Re: mustang vs camaro gas ank
I went with a stang tank as well. I had been using a 67-72 rear conversion tank but after flipping the axle it simply hung too low for my comfort. This one fits perfectly in the 3600 frame rails after trimming off the bottom of the frame.
