sbc350gearhead Registered User Join Date: Mar 2003 Location: Columbus Ohio Posts: 1,413	I have a hypertech power programmer for my 98 350. I have no detonation problems. Hypertech actually calls for 93 octane in the manual that came with my programmer. If you are having problems, then I would give it a tuneup, check the EGR and run a good combustion chamber cleaner (schaeffer's nuetra, Fuel power, Chevron Techron, etc).
