Great looking blazer!
Those are all great tips above, I would just add to remember fresh oil too. Whether it is just old, or possibly diluted with gas washed down the cylinder walls when cranking, a fresh start is in order, and may help compression.

Ok, just saw the last post, able to do a load test on the battery? Could be connections or grounding, but a weak battery can act like that too

I went ahead and threw my other trucks battery in and the blazer just starter right up and sounds much stronger than before.

The original battery was dated Nov of 2019 and was reading 12.3 volts. Thanks for all your helpful insight everyone! I learned a lot from this even though it appears to have been a bad battery...

A battery can read close to charged (which is about 12.6V) but can have a gob of plate material shorting two plates. It won't allow a decent amount of current to flow in that case. You might only have to charge that old battery back up, though. It could just be low from cranking. Give it a shot and charge it, what do you have to lose? While you have it running with a known good battery, if you have a voltmeter you can check the charging voltage. Anything less than 13.5V points to a charging system problem.
