Can you convert 72 K10 front brakes to K20?

Without swapping complete axles? I would like to get the bigger front discs/calipers? Will the k20 parts fit on the k10 d44? Could i keep it six lug or would i have to go to 8 lug?

Thanks

Re: Can you convert 72 K10 front brakes to K20?

You can but you have to go 8 lug. I did that on my Jimmy using 3/4 ton Suburban parts. From a 10 bolt yet on my Dana 44. I used the semi-float 14 bolt from the Sub as well. It is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than the 12 bolt. It also has 13" drums for a rear brake upgrade. If you use your truck at the boat ramp, the additional performance of the parking brake is significant as well.
