what are the most popular nut/bolt sizes?
Ideally would like a complete list of sizes used to wrench on our beloved squarebodies; all SAE and SAE/Metric types!
or a solid link Thank you!

Not sure what you mean. Buy a kit that has metric and SAE. Wrench away.

At one point a long time ago, I bought a mixed box end wrench with 1/2" on one end and 9/16" on the other.
That would actually take care of most things that you would encounter out on the road.

If you are working on the body, its filled with 1/2" and 9/16" body bolts. So those two sizes will handle almost everything if you want to work with panels.

Re: what are the most popular nut/bolt sizes?
The early ones were all SAE. At some point in the later 70's, they switched to a mix of SAE/metric. Drive train stayed mostly SAE. Body was often metric but not always. My 79 Camaro required the dual metric/SAE sets to get things done.
1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 3/4 + an adjustable(Cresent) will cover most road side repairs. Toss in the proper screwdriver for your lights(usually phillips or torx). No telling what PO's might have used to fix something so even a rock solid list is just a best guess. |
