The gentleman in the last two pics is my good friend, Mr. Don Molpus. He's been turnin' wrenches almost as long as I've been alive (a great friend to have). Thanks to him, the cam swap went really smooth.

As you can see, #8 exhaust lobe is worn completely down.

Thanks,y'all.
krue, I'm going to enjoy this nice clean engine while it lasts. But since my truck is a driver, that won't be long.
Bill, I guess I feel about the same as you did when you got your truck back from the body shop. I just really missed not driving it.
Sweet72, here goes: 355 c.i. forged flat top pistons, Edelbrock 1406 carb, RPM Air Gap intake, AFR 190 heads w/ 68cc chambers, Isky solid flat tappet cam, MSD dizzy and coil, Thorley tri-y headers, THM 400 trans. Truck still needs lots of work, but it's driveable.

Well done George. Perhaps you could ask Mr. Molpus that if he is ever in Ontario Canada to drop by for a visit...I'll supply the wrenches

Thanks guys,
Doug, the valve covers were my second choice. The baffles on my other covers would not fit between rockers.
67 Shortie, Too early to tell about power, but it sounds great.
1972C10, the timing chain is a Cloyes Hex-a-just and it is a really nice piece. The cover is a Cloyes #9-221 two piece unit. I found it locally, but both Summit and Jegs stock it. The center piece is removable to allow adjustments to cam timing, but for cam swap, the pan must be dropped.

George

Buckola, my wife and I are coming your way on July 5. We'll be in Detroit, Windsor, Toronto, and Niagra Falls. Our son is a member of the Lions' Club All- State Band of Mississippi and is marching in a parade as part of the Lions' convention. We'll be there thru July 9. Wish we could spend more time up there. We've never been across the border.
Putter, one of these days, I,m going to come by to visit. I think I've seen you a couple of times. Your truck is light aqua and white, with cab clearance lights, right? Very nice truck. Looks totally show room original.

George
