Paint and Trim Question?
I am debating on painting my truck on color or two tone. I am placing the black trim on it either way and I am wandering what to do about the tailgate if I do it in two tone. Should I get the tailgate with the Chevrolet in wood trim? Tailgate with lettering and paint the lettering or leave it white? If anyone has pics of what they did I would like to see it.
Thanks, Todd

Show us all a pic, if possible, then we can get a better understanding of what you have, etc. Is it 2-tone now? What model, etc.?

My truck is blue now, and I do not have pic. It will be a 2 tone with orange and white on a 72 4x4 lwb with black trim upper and lower. I saw your truck there on the side what do you have for a tailgate? Does Winfeild still have a car show in the summer? I grew up in Cheney, KS.

JMO, but I think trucks with both upper and lower trim just beg for two tone paint jobs. Barn9 and my avatar or two examples of the red/orange-white-red/orange scheme. As for the tailgate, I think the woodgrain trim panel might look out of place if you're going with black lower trim. Also, the panel and letter are pretty expensive. I know they make decals for the letters - might look into that route.

I am pretty sure that the stock trucks that had the black trim, used two pieces of narrow trim on the tailgate, with the embossed letters painted and showing. The trucks with the woodgrain trim had the woodgrain on the tailgate. Sorry no pics. Just do what you like,99% of the people will never know the difference. I used to have a blue truck that the woodgrain piece on the tailgate was the only piece of trim on the truck.
