What if??
I take the front coil springs and rear leafs out of a half ton and put them in my 3/4 ton, will that give my truck the same ride height of a half ton? Is that the only thing that makes the ride height higher on my 3/4? Will there be any problem with doing this, driveshaft angle, etc? Thanks for any input.

I think that the a-frames on the 3/4 ton's are different from the 1/2 ton's. Some of the 1/2 tons had heavier springs that could have been ordered as an option from the factory. Sounds like it may be worth a try. You could always ask some of the specialist like earlyclassic If you do not get any response.

I asked my little bro "what if".....he said what if toads had wings? I said "dunno".....he said they woudnt have to bump their @sses on the ground all the time sorry, couldnt pass that up at any rate, i have done the drop thing on the old longhorn, & added 5 lug 1/2 ton pcs. at the rear, i tossed all but the top 4 leafs , & flipped the rear diff(12 bolt now), & relocated the spring perches to raise her back up just a tad. My guess is about a 4 1/2 - 5" drop. slapper bars were added to handle the wheel hop. the front was done with a cut coil (1 full ring off the bottom), & looks to be a 2 1/2 -3 " drop(also 5 lug 1/2 ton pcs up front). the springs i cut were new, but the lightest I could get, as per my local spring shops advice. when you cut them, they get effectively stiffer. You can do the 5 lug swap aftermarket, but factory pcs are really cheap to get. any ?, or further "crazy info", feel free to drop a PM, & I will help if i can here is a link to a few shots on my "3/4 ton low rider" http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodhorn best of luck, crazyL
