1967 V8 3 speed clutch diameter ?

So, I think I’m going to swap in a T5, I have a world class Camaro / firebird transmission I picked up several years back. My truck is a 283 / 3 speed, can anybody tell me what diameter the original clutch / flywheel is? I really want to have everything on hand before I start the swap, and I will probably have to order the clutch disc, or clutch kit. I know that the T5 is out of a 1989 firebird formula, V8 car.

I know I could just buy a clutch kit for an 89 firebird, but if everything else is good, why not just swap the disc out for the 26 spline required for the T5 ? Tell me why OR why not, I don’t have really any experience with manual transmissions...

I have, multiple times...that thread suggests just ordering the clutch for the original application for the transmission., but zero reference to the original clutch disc diameter. I guess my question is based on the fact that I have zero issues with my current clutch, and think just swapping in a disc that matches the input shaft would be fine, but I don’t know what the original diameter is, and I would think it would be important to match the disc diameter so that the pressure plate works correctly...but with zero experience in clutches,I could be wrong, it may not matter ???

IIRC my old 67 gmc with 250 had an 11” clutch. It was a Zoom branded one I got at Napa.
I think the fire chicken disc is 10.5”.
You should be good to go.

Take the flywheel cover off and measure the pressure plate or take a pic. If you can't get in there far enough to measure it (likely), measure the distance between some bolt heads. You can then go to the store with that dimension and compare some parts, or post it here and someone can look at their clutch that is out of the truck.

Well, I broke down and just ordered a clutch kit for the original transmission application as suggested in the T5 install thread...bad move, the pressure plate won’t bolt to the flywheel...

This is going just swell...now I either need a new flywheel, which may also require a new starter, or resurface the existing flywheel and reuse the old pressure plate, which does have some hot spots showing, but isn’t too grooved up...or ???

They may be able to suggest a pressure plate that works in your application.
I use a Centerforce II on my '68 C/10 w/292L6/SM465. Still good after fifteen years as a DD.

The shipping to return would eat me alive...I think I’ll have the original flywheel surfaced, and use the old pressure plate...I took a paint stripping disc to it, and it cleaned up nice, no grooves or warping...I don’t think it’s very old, the clutch worked perfectly in front of the 3 speed. Anyway, it’ll have a new throw out bearing, new 10.5” disc, and fresh surfacing, should be good to go for a long time...I’m sure the new 5 speed will be worth the hair pulling...

Several items to verify before you start assembling things....

1/ Throwout bearing height is correct for pressure plate being used

2/ Throwout bearing support snout diameter on the T5 is suitable for that throwout bearing...also check length of the snout compared to the original trans....

3/ Clutch master and slave cylinder setup...assuming you are going hydraulic...original c-10 system is all mechanical.
