55-57 Bumper Gaurds N.O.S.

Hi Guys. I sold my 55 Chevy truck and have a few odds and ends left from it. I have a N.O.S. set of front bumperettes that I bought a while back and did not use. The chrome is pitted somewhat due to being improperly stored. They could be used as is but if they are going on a really nice truck I would have them replated before using them.
They are G.M. parts and have never been used. I will run this ad for one week and then if nobody wants them they are going on Ebay. Make an offer of cash or trade for small block Chevy parts.
Thanks a lot.
John.

I'm interested, but need a price? Any chance of getting a picture of the problems to the chrome?

Larry. I could take some pictures but my camera is not that great so it really would not help you much. I think my description of them is quite accurate though. You could use them on a driver type truck quite easily but really they should be rechromed if they are going on a show type truck. I checked back and they cost me 125.00. Make an offer or whatcha got for a trade?
Thanks.........John

Nos ???

Come on let's get the true meaning of NOS here! NOS stands for "New Old Stock"... That means it was on a shelf in the dealers parts room and never installed on a vehicle yet! It means it should be in like new condition, with no damage, and still in original box or in a protected environment for all these years.

The fact that you are saying it is NOS and it has to be re-chromed tells the reader that the parts is in used condition or has been left someplace to get corroded!

If they are NOS and in NOS condition then you could expect to ask $125.00 for the pair.... but not for pitted parts.

We sell brand new reproductions of bumper guards for classic trucks for the low price of $43.99 for a pair! www.ricos-rods-and-relic.com

47-55 Front Bumper Guards Pair (Chrome)
Part # DC-1125 VERY LOW PRICE $43.99 Per Pair

My two cents worth... rico_bob

Beg to differ with you Rico. New old stock means exactly that! It does not mean to say that they could not have been stored in a damp area of a warehouse for the last 40 years. I have seen and actually been foolish enough to buy some of those off shore poor quality after market parts you speak of. The old saying you get what you pay for certainly applies here.Forty something dollars for some bumperettes that will rust after a couple good washings does not sound too good to me! I guess if a guy is happy using second rate crap on a good old Chevy truck then they would be fine but if that's the case maybe a person should just go buy a Toyota or Nissan. At least they don't hide the fact that they are made in Japan and meant to be thrown away after they have been used for a while!
