84 K1500 steers hard
I am working on a 1984 GMC k1500. It is just the running gear with 350 engine, 700r4, etc installed. No body yet. I have replaced power steering gear box, all tie rod ends, OEM-type steering stabilizer, and ball joints. Before installing the new parts, I could grab a front tire and "steer" it to move the running gear left or right. Now I can't steer it with out using a long pry bar to turn the wheels left or right. Should I be concerned, or is this normal for all new steering parts? I don't want to get it all back together and the steering wheel not go back to center on its own after a turn. Any input would be appreciated greatly! Thank you.

Re: 84 K1500 steers hard
if your trying to turn the wheels with the steering box and stabilizer attached , then yes itll be hard to turn..
if you think its binding you can detach the drag link and see what it feels like...if its still tight then remove the tierod and see if its one wheel or the other..
