68 with wide molding

Something looked odd about this 68 I got on ebay, and then it dawned on me, whats up with the wide body side moldings, shouldnt be the thin molding?

Yes,
A 68 chevrolet should have the thin molding that extends above the wheel wells.
It does appear to be correct GM moulding though.
It may have been added later or it could be a 69 model.
The tailgate is probably from the same truck that the molding came off of.
That is if it is a chevy, It looks like a 69 or 70 GMC to me.
Does it have coils or leafs?
Does it have a 67 68 hood or the later style?
Is it 6 lug or 5 lug?
Have you checked the Vin?

I don't think that the front clip is not a 68 due to the hood having a sharp drop where the GMC letters are the 68 had more of a slant.
I still believe it to be a 69 model or later.
At least the body indicates so.
But GMC did things a little different so it could be a 68 model
Here is a pic of a slanted hood like i am referring to:

Looks like a post 68 to me too. You can see the paint stripe on the truck which would lead me to think it's original paint on the body. The hood and grill at least are 69 or later.

The body looks pretty solid though.

Hmmm, interesting, was listed as 68, no biggie its a shorty
He says theres no visual signs of rust in the front clip, cab, and the original color is indeed blue, but the bed has some rust, at least theres new bed panels available
