Power Steering!!??

SBC power steering pump
with stock steel mount?
Picked up a new power steering pump( 20-7920F) as well as bracket
pump does not have lower rear mounting stud!??
And all the mounts I've seen (exc my bent to stock steal one) seem to require lower rear mounting stud??

I need either a mount that works With Out Rear Lower Mount Stud
Or the same type I have maybe smaller or? and has a Rear Mount Stud

mounted lower driver position

You can put the new guts in your old can. Careful on the colorful language, it is a family oriented site.

Power Steering!!??

if yer that excited over the wrong parts, may want to consider a new hobby..

as for the correct bracket/pump configuration. your application information may lead a board member to a solution for you..

good luck!

Power Steering!!??

Not at all Sorry

just slowly replacing stuff on my engine finding out that the parts were just beating up and more used than previously thought

I've been wrenching for 30+ yrs
we all have those F it moments

I ended up taking apart my old pump and noticing that the pump itself has the threads in it to put that mounting bolt so I'm going to have to just drill into the case and put the mounting stud there

But again the bracket that I picked up fits too snugly to the pump sides and not enough room to even adjust it if mounted correctly
seems that my pump is a little taller than the ones I've seen in all of the pictures

metric?
my pump to box hose seems to be both flanged And O ring?

Apparently you are working with mismatched parts.
Save yourself AND us, a lot of grief, just get the correct pump, and correct bracket, and move on.

Some thoughts.
Unless you've owned the truck since new, you don't know what has been changed over the years. Really inspect old parts before buying new parts. Don't be surprised when things don't fit.

I usually go on Rock Auto and look closely at pictures, and options before buying anything. Look for parts for later generations also, they might had been swapped in years ago.

You mentioned metric. I think power steering stuff switched to metric sizes about 78ish. Might look for the hoses you have to figure out the pump you have.

If you need brackets, I would look at Summit

Usually the fitting is inverted flare I believe. Pics would help.

I also second keeping the language clean. A lot of great people on this site who are here to help.

Power Steering!!??

Having to deal with my son's 69 and it's mismatched parts, I feel your pain. Keep at it, and relax. Have a beer, take a deep breath and post away. Somebody here is gonna be able to help you out. My son's front brake setup was from a 72, his heater in the cab was from who knows where. LOL. That is part of the fun of dealing with an old truck that you have no idea where it came from. Take it slow, enjoy the ride and relax man. Have a beer, don't cost nuthing. LOL

This tittle is not acceptable ... these forums are geared towards a family oriented site.

If you start letting good manners slide, foul language eventually turns into personal insults....I've seen it on other forums while researching various projects. I appreciate the fact that the rules are enforced around here.
