Picked up 5.3 direct injected engine and 6-speed trans! Wish I would have go the 6.2(short on cash). Just reaching out to see if anyone has done this in the blazers? Looking to keep the vacuum pump and add power steering on the passenger side and use a reservoir.

I am currently putting a l83/8l90 in a 72 2wd Jimmy. I went with the Holley front drive accessories and put a LT1 intake on it. The LT1 intake has the vacuum port in the rear of the intake. Not sure if any of it works yet, but that's where I'm at so far.

What did the intake come off of? and what water pump did you go with?

The kit from Holley is very similar to the kit I put on the ls motor in my 4wd blazer. Looks to me like it uses the same water pump as the ls. The kit for the LT motor uses spacers behind everything to bring the pulleys in line with the crank pulley. The water jackets on the LT are machined different than the LS, therefore spacers have different machining on both sides as well as threaded hole for temp sensor. Holley LT accessory drive part number 20-170. The intake was a new replacement intake for a Camaro/Corvette LT1. The headers are speed engineering shorties. They make a long tube header also.
