Are you saying you have leaf springs on the front of your truck ? Whats the diameter of your front sway bar. Most people including me use a 1 1/4 inch front sway bar , as opposed to the 1/2 ton 7/8 inch bars that came on the 67-72's, and get them from a 73-87 Chevy/GMC 1 ton truck. I ask about the diameter of your front sway bar as I don't know if the 67-72 3/4 ton trucks used a 7/8 inch front sway bar. Maybe someone will pipe in if they know for sure.

I think he is saying he wants sway bars front and rear and the truck is a leaf spring rear.

Either way, your advice is sound.

Any sway bar will help with driveability whether it is the small diameter or large one. For a daily driver type truck (especially a 1/2 ton) I think the big ones are overkill. As far as fit, the 1/2 and 3/4 ton fit the same on the '67-'72's but I think the bends on the '73 up are a little different. I had a hard time getting a later one to fit the front of the '67 Panel Truck. I don't have a clue about rear sway bars.

Just my opinion though, everybody has their own ideas.

Sorry. I should be more specific. It's a '69 3/4 GMC with front coils and rear leafs. It has a factory front sway but not one in back. I'd like to upgrade the front but more concerned about adding a rear.

I think there are some threads on here about using a Camaro rear sway bar on our trucks.

Read through this thread.

It has some pictures of a sway bar on a leaf spring truck.

Our 1972 C20 came with a factory 1 1/16 dia. front sway bar. We upgraded to a 1 1/4 dia. 73-87 3/4 Ton front sway bar available at the salvage yard. New bushings from Energy Suspension.

For the rear sway bar we reused a 1" dia. Hellwig 7402 that was already on it. We did reconfigure the front mounts because we've got a FlipKit on the axle. Hope this helps.
