4/6 drop measurement needed please

I'm hoping you guys that have a 4/6 drop can help me out. I installed an ECE drop kit last year and the front end is lower than it should be, it looks like they sent me the wrong springs. I spoke with the guys at ECE last fall about it and they said they would make it right but it was just as I was putting the truck away for the winter so we agreed we would revisit it in the spring. Well as most of you may know by now they have closed, so now I need to figure this all out without their wealth of knowledge.

Can anyone with a 4/6 drop take a measurement from the center of the wheel/hub to the bottom edge of the fender directly above, as shown in this picture? That will give me a good idea of what drop my front end actually has so I can determine next steps. Thanks in advance.

Mine is 16 inches but I have LS6 in mine so it will sit up a bit because the LSS is lighter.

Re: 4/6 drop measurement needed please

I have ECE 2 1/2" drops spindles and 2" springs for 4 1/2" drop. Measurement just after lowering was 14 1/2" LF and 14 3/4" RF.

What is the distance on your truck?

Re: 4/6 drop measurement needed please

Thanks for the responses. My measurements are 14 1/2" on the driver's side and 14 5/8" on the passenger side. So based on the measurements here it looks like I have a 4.5" front drop. I had actually ordered a 3.5/5 kit, but it seems like they sent me 2" drop springs instead of 1". Now that I have seen it this low though I am changing direction, I was planning on changing to a 4/6 drop, but will stick with the 4.5" in the front.

Mike C have you had any rubbing issues with the 235/55/17 tires you run on the front? I am switching to 17's and will be using 255/50/17 on the front, which are about the same diameter as yours.

Re: 4/6 drop measurement needed please

None, but it's the extra width that gets you. Why 15" rims have such a problem is you can't run hardly any backspacking without hitting suspension parts so wide tires hit the inner fender on the outside.

I have been super happy with the 235 in the front on 8" rim with 4.5" bs ( zero offset) but the little extra width might hit an inner fender bolt.

Re: 4/6 drop measurement needed please

I have 235/60s on 15x8 with 4.5 bs and I had to grind off just a little of the lip on the lower control arm rear of the ball joint. It rubbed at full lock. No tire rub issues though. 2" ECE springs with 2.5" spindles.
