Wasted a whole day
Well seeing how most everyone is lock up on their home steads I wasted a whole day today on the speed warning speedometer that was give to me. I had taken it out of the 3 hole cluster and installed it in my 7 hole once I got the new tach.
Well I started installing it this morning at 9:30, I just finished and it's back on the work bench in the garage. When I went to install it I stopped once I had the oil line hooked up and tach and the electrical stuff done to check it all before finishing. Glad I did I had no water temp reading... what the heck I didn't touch it. So I pulled it back out and looked it all over thinking I missed something. Spent 2 hrs and 2 gauges later and nothing. So I went a head and installed it all to go for a drive and check the speedometer. Guess what...it didn't work either it bounces all over the place, I guess the spring is gone I'm not sure. So I drove it back home took it out again and put the old speedometer back in it. I just have come inside form putting it back together. I decided to go a head and do a thermostat swap also. The water temperature gauge is working again. It's been a long day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nhfn4b0rWs0

Re: Wasted a whole day
Yea sometimes it just don't pay to try and make your truck better. It fault me the whole time. On top of all that the speed waring speedometer broke some how. When I took it out the adjuster that turns the needle fail out of it. The plastic had snapped into!
Life goes on.

Re: Wasted a whole day
I am glad to see that my truck isn't alone in fighting change. Seems like when i try to fix one thing, something else jumps in wanting attention.

Re: Wasted a whole day
I boxed up all the speed warning parts I had and shipped them to Tom in Junction City, OR this afternoon to fix the newer speed warning one and to give him the other parts.
