What would it look like?

While we see many truck owners that put the 67-68 front clip onto 69-72 trucks (it’s a good look), I’d never seen the lower wide mouldings on a converted truck until today. I thought it looks good.
My question is, Has anyone ever used the 67-68 mouldings on a 69-72. I kinda wonder what it would look like?

It looks good as it does on 67/68s. For me, I want trim to be original or no trim at all.

I wish I had a picture to share. Not a terrible idea, just not what I would do. People not so stuck on or knowledgeable about what is correct or not on these trucks would just go by how it looks to them.

Special K, you’re right. I wouldn’t do it either.
It was just Stange seeing the wide lower trim on the 68, and I wondered why more didn’t do that. To each his own, but I’m with you, and like to keep things as close to factory as possible.

My friend bought what would appear as a '68 K/20 that was actually converted by using a '79 K/20 frame. He knew none of this when he bought it (Ebay). It appeared to have original faded Dark Green/505 paint. But it also had 69-72 lower trim and it even took me a while for it to hit me as not original. I never heard anyone make comments on it either. It looked like it belonged. It must have been done a long time ago when the truck was repainted. It was "weather-in" looking

I though it was cool to see a 72 front on a 67 small window cab ,but that's me.

My truck is made up of many years of parts. Technically it is titled as a 70, but is mostly 72 sheet metal. I have used parts that work wherever it made money saving sense or fit my fancy. The reason that I went with the 67-68 lower trim was to cover some poor repop sheetr metal that did not have the indent that went around the outer bed wheel wells. The older trim made it disappear for the most part. My lower 72 trim was needing to be replaced or at least fresehened up...so, I bought the Mar-K lower trim from the later years and have decent 72 pieces to find a new home one day. The project is not done, but here are some teasers.
