Hood
Can anyone recomend the best way to fix where the bolt screws into the hood. As you can see looks like it was ripped out

make a piece of flat bar with the nuts welded on in the right places
cut a piece of the panel out slip the flat bar in weld the hole shut some work required but maybe less than removing the panel, repairing and installing again. R&R of the panel would allow you to fix any rust associated with the hidden area but that's up to you. either way a piece of flat bar with the nuts welded on is a good repair. a piece of thicker flat bar with threaded holes, and no welded on nuts, may also be an option and require less of a slot to slip it in. |

Just be aware that if you start welding thick metal to thin, your likely to create area for stress cracking to start..especially in the hinge area where there is already a stress point..

which type of welding do you think would be best? I have a friend who has been doing all the welding for me so far and he has every type of welder possible...
