Which is the high end option wood or steel?
Which is the standard option for a 70 GM a wood floor box or a steel floor?

Steel was Standard I believe and Wood was the option.

My understanding is that Chevys had wood standard (metal optional) and GMCs had metal standard (wood optional).

both chevy and gmc had steel as standard on fleetsides, with wood as an option. all stepsides and longhorns had wood floors standard, with no steel floor option.

1969 GMC is correct. It seems to me that in high end trucks in show circles, however, the reverse is true. I'm seeing more and more wood floors instead of nice restored metal floors. My guess is that a wood floor, while plenty expensive (and very cool & beautiful) is probably the same or maybe cheaper than payng a good bodyman to remove dents and waves from a metal floor. So, it is my belief that when you see a nice metel floor it is a testament to how nice the truck was before the restoration.
