85 K5 mounts have to move? 70s clip issues

Hey all, I have seen a few people on the web had to move their core support mounts an inch or so to install a 70s front clip on an 80s square. I did the swap on a 76 c10 frame and clip with a 86 cab and had no issues.

But I am doing the same thing on my 85 blazer and that mount looks like it has move. This makes no sense any help or suggestions?

I do not want to move the mount but am tinkering with adding more metal to it and having an elongated hole or whatever to work. Just looking for feedback. This stinks.

You may have an easier time moving the mount as those rivets come out with little effort. I've taken many of those rivets out and replaced them with grade 8 bolts and a locking nut. Probably easier than adding metal and re-cutting. Just my .02

Maybe you are right, but they also support the front leaf springs and I am trying not to complicate or affect them...

Yes, makes sense. I could see now where moving them could create additional work. You may have the best solution available by adding metal and cutting.

If it was 2wd, no problem, but 4x4, not so much. Just kills me that everything is not just lining up in the first place.

So I removed the rubber pads and she fits but I don’t have a lot of wiggle room. Very interesting.
