Where is the spare
I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, but..............
What do you guys do with the spare tire after you lower the truck or relocate the gas tankk to the spare location? I'm looking at mine and the spare tire rail hangs way down. Even if I lower mine 2" the things going to bang the ground sometime. Ya you can throw in the bed but..... what else? Got pics? Chris

you could do like some of the old cudas did. they use to run a space saver spare. which was just a bare rim in the trunk.

I chopped and section a fleetside wheel tube and cut it into the floor in front of my driver's side wheel tube. Still have the main bed crossmembers at the front of the bed and the front of the wheel well. The wheel tub doesn't hang below the bedside, and the spare sits under the bed rail. Welded the bolt flanges back on upside down and closed in the open side with sheetmetal. I have a little tech article with pictures on my website in my signature. Website hasn't been updated in like 2 years, but the spare tire holder is still the same, only spray-on bedlinered now.

My spare is in the garage, with the floor jack and crossbow. If I'm going to travel far from home, I load them all up.

Your idea is great! I have a short-bed so I don't think I can do it but I would love to figure out a similar way to get it done. Shawn
