Is this an Original Dash Pad

Picked this up and grabbed it because of the pictured sticker on the bottom and wondering if someone can verify if its an original GM one. Mine althoiugh in nice shape has developed one split so eventually may replace with this one if its genuine one. It needs some TLC but I'm pretty sure I can get it back looking as it should.

I have my doubts that a jobber would mark the pad in that way and those pal nut look to be the original style as well. My $0.02 worth. I have been known to be wrong more often than right.

Re: Is this an Original Dash Pad

I would second the opinion of others on that. I found one that had a inspection sticker on it like that also. I was kinda amazed to see it still there after all the years.

Re: Is this an Original Dash Pad

Both my original and the one I got out of a 72 had the sticker on there. It's the closed thing to a date of birth so my pickups birthday is 2/5/71.

Re: Is this an Original Dash Pad

Thats the real deal oem Davison Rubber Company dash pad. I believe they made all kinds of interior parts for different auto makers back in the day. I've seen their QC sticker on mostly 69+ pads but never on the full metal backed 67, 68 pads. Hmmm, I wonder if GM made the early pad then farmed out the work to DRC I'm sure you'll get that one cleaned up nice

Re: Is this an Original Dash Pad

X2 on the Davidson Rubber Corp, there was one in my town for years, they did do a run of them back in the late 80's and grabbed a few defected one, sold them at the flea market,if I would have known how crappy the aftermarket ones were going to be,I would have kept a dozen or so!
