Spring spacers

Hello,

I have a noticeable Chevy lean and wondering if anyone bought front spring spacer?

All I'm looking for is 3/8 spacer and have not yet been able to find one.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

You can get two new front coils reasonably cheap. Possibly a better way to go.

I lowered the truck front and rear 2 1/2" spindles with 2" coils and 6 " in rear.. the front springs are seated in pockets so thsts all good. I measured from front bump stop to chassic and thats where i came up eith 3/8th difference.. ive even swapped springs and results still the same.when I Jack chassis up on left side that's when it levels out. So I've seen these spacers for camaro and Pontiac but not sure if they make for trucks. All 4 shocks ard new as well.

Upper and lower control arm bushings worn?

I replaced upper and lower control arm bushings and bushings shafts., used all moog stuff and yes i did install lower shaft to align with knob on chassis. Replace upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends etc.

The springs are sitting in pockets top and bottom. I do see that the spring is not centered going up towards the top pocket.. almost touching chassis towards the front. The passenger side sits centered and perfect.

I cannot find and indication that frame is bent, or hit anywhere hard.

Not sure if I did anything wrong when rebuilding from end to mess up spring alignment

Any help greatly appreciated

Only thing I can think of is did you replace Cab and Core Support mounts?

When I built my 40 Coupe it had a 1/2" lower lean on the drivers side. I had used a new parallel rear leaf spring kit made by Chassis Engineering. Upon inspection and measuring I found the drivers side leaf spring was about 1/2" shorter eye to eye which pulled the shackle more forward lowering that side.

I contacted Chassis Engineering who was right in the middle of going out of business and TCI was taking over the line of products so I hit a dead end for having them replace the springs, I had to move on.

What I did to resolve the problem was oversized my rear sway bar and tightened the passenger side down the extra amount required to level the car out, which actually was not that much.

If you can't pin point the issue this might be an option for you

Have not changed out cab or core mounts but I did measure cab to mount and both even. What I'm trying to figure out is why drivers side front spring not centered like passenger side.. I've measured everything from arms to fixed objects and everything even. I've thought about adding 3/8 shim on upper saddle where spring sits.

I thought maybe a problem with spring but have switched with side and still same keqn

Did you change the panhard bar in the rear? Adjust It tor take it loose and see what happens. It can kick the rear corner up, which pushes the opposite front corner down.

Yes I put the super bar on, I noticed the lean prior to adding bar and still there when I adjusted it

This pretty much eliminates body cushions as a possible cause. I would key on the side the spring isn't centered as well as the other one.
Measuring from floor to center of wheel opening arch at each corner displays the same difference?
Just a thought. Is the truck completely assembled?

I have measured from center of upper pockets to the floor on both side and they are the the same, truck is assembled. I didn't do a frame off on this one. Body lines on bed to back of cab is even. I've thought about putting shims from bed to cab and core support but would rather find and correct oroblem.

What is the difference, side to side, measuring from the floor to the top of the arch at the wheel opening?

3/8 difference from floor to wheel weld opening.

Did you check for spacers already in place? Does the frame measure level from the floor? If the frame is close to level I would use body mount shims.

I leveled one a while back by moving around body mount shims. The frame measured level but the body didn't. An 1/8 inch shim at the body mount will raise the body significantly more are the outer body line.

I would much rather have a shim in the body than the spring.

It's a stretch, but you could have a lower arm that has been stressed in the past. If somebody did a Duke's of Hazard with it and landed on that corner, it could have tweaked the lower arm.

Did you try switching the rear springs side to side? Does the rear measure level side to side?

I did measure frame to floor and all is even. Ill check around if i can locate lower arm and replace that if not. It's coming to that point where I was thinking of shims on body mounts as far back as the bed so body lines stays even.
