Anyone need a 4-speed tilt column?

Anyone looking for a 4-speed tilt column in the Oregon area?

The seller will not ship, but if you can pick it up, this could be an excellent deal.

Don't need one, but Aloha is just about 4 miles due west from me.

What do you think Mitch? If I can get it, would you be up to it?

If you win the auction, I can pick it up and ship it to you using FedEx Ground, which they have a corporate depot about 1/4 mile from me. I can package it up and get a quote for you.

No problem...Wonder why the guy wouldn't ship it himself anyways? Doesn't look like anything difficult?

I agree Mike. Mitch and I have made some deals before, he is a swell guy and great person. There are quite a few members here who would go out of their way for others (including you!), pretty amazing when everything you hear, read, and see on TV about the world indicates the opposite.

Thanks again Mitch.

Jeff,

if you believe what you see on TV, I have some beach front property for sale behind my house. BTW, I'm 5 hours from the ocean.

Mike

I got that beat, I am only 90 minutes from the Pacific Ocean and the beach!

I think I am going to pass on the column. I e-mailed the seller and it sounds like it was an auto trans column that someone converted to a 4-speed column.

Thanks anyhow Mitch, but it looks like you are off the hook.

Oh well, good thing you found that out...otherwise it would have added to your "tilt column headaches."

Welllll, I will know by the end of the week.

Long story short. I filed complaints with everybody I could about this guy. I then E-mailed him one last time and told him how much BS I thought this was, informed him of what I have done, and told him what to expect. He wrote back a day or two later, apologizing for all of this. He said his PC was down or crashed and that his sand blasting cabinet broke. He shipped out the column on Monday, I should have it by the end of the week.

I think he might be a good guy to deal with, but five weeks with no communication on his part is a little tough to swallow.

I will post pics and an update then.

Next time, get his phone number I know I suffered some when my website business computer crashed. I can sympathize with you AND him. He SHOULD have gotten your phone number just in case something like this happened...
