90 Gauge Cluster

My odometer stopped working and I,m tol it is due to a fault in the gauge cluster.Can this be repaired?Do other years fit...mine is a 1990?Should I go to the wreckers and just replace it.Please advise.

A friend of mine has his repaired and it was quite pricey. You're probably better off finding another one in a junk yard and having the odometer reset

ive got an 88 and mine wasnt working either....found a wrecked truck and gave 75 bucks for the whole cluster and just popped it in.

cluster will pop right in but make shure drivetrain and tires are the same or yer speed will be off by 10-20 mph...these truck have diffrent setups depending on drivetrain if l remeber correctly

the speedo should be the same regardless of tire size and gears because the speedo gears in the trans dicatate that the speedometer is just rated at a certain ohm and that varys for speed

That's right the VSS it actually what is different on these older trucks, not the cluster.
