2016 chevy silverado

My friend bought a 2016 salvage truck. He replaced the front fender, the hood, the flare, the upper A arm, the wheel (after market) and the airbags (extensive dash damage.

The truck is like new now, all the parts are from GM, the dash was a headache but no rattles nor squeaks.

The re-paint of the parts blended very well.

The truck looks really good and drives really good.

Considering the cost of these trucks I was shocked it was actually totalled by the insurance company.

The truck has 34K miles and is immaculate inside and out.

What would be the value of a truck like this? Understanding there is no real trade in value or that financing a salvage truck is a stretch.

I am not sure if I am trying to talk myself into it or out of it at this point.

Salvage title will always stay with that truck, so you should expect a big discount over current value of a clean title truck.
They are a tougher sell because financing is hard to get on a salvage vehicle.
I would only consider a salvage vehicle if I was planning to keep it for a long time and basically wear it out.

Re: 2016 chevy silverado

I was reading in the Kelley Blue Book and it says between 50%-60% off what it would be if it had a clean title.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I usually drive them til there is not all that much left.

Excellent mechanical upkeep, not so much on cleanliness....inside or out.

I'm leaning toward of buying but still debating.

Thanks for the reply.
