Flatbed C10?
Ok guys, humor me here.. Ive done some searching and cant really find what i am looking for.
There are plenty of pics of C20s and C30s with flatbeds. But what about the C10s? Doing some reading i saw they made a chassis only C10, used for ambulances and what, but i want to see Flatbed C10s. No, im not saying i am going that way, but a thought was put into my head so i need to research it and go with it, or get it out of my head!!!! I really would like to see NICE flatbeds, not farm style etc. But will take all! Here is one i found on here doing some searching.....Any more like it? Anyone know whos this is? |

Re: Flatbed C10?
I put a flatbed on my 69 c10. These pics are from immediately after the install. Was planning to build one myself, but I found one for less than I could buy the steel for, so I picked it up. It used to be a welding bed, with a gas generator/welder bolted down in the middle channel and oxy/acetylene bottle holders on the right.
The truck was originally a longbed fleetside, so I did have to cut ~1ft of frame off the back end. It's not the prettiest, but it's nice for the hauling that I do. I sure don't worry about scratching the paint! I'll shoot it flat black again at the point when I'm ready to paint my cab and front end. |

Re: Flatbed C10?
Minus the headache rack that isnt to bad!
Your right, clean that up and you have a nice bed. I prefer the wood floored beds but that doesnt look bad at all |

Re: Flatbed C10?
Dubbed the "Mutt" This C10 fleet (a 71 LWB fleet to start with I believe) was put together several years ago by one of the old board members from Canada. I always loved how he did the flat bed

Re: Flatbed C10?
I talked with a local truck parts supplier and they said they couldn't order one for a short bed, but would build me one. My projects on hold for now so I don't want to think about it anyomore lol

Re: Flatbed C10?
That's nice. I'm thinking metal with wood. I have some IPE I was going to use for the stepside bed, but I can't stop thinking about a flatbed.

Re: Flatbed C10?
Here is my flatbed in the late 80s. Orginally going to make it a welding truck for my dad, then we decided to make it for me to drive. Traded the flatbed for a fleetside bed about 10 years ago.

Re: Flatbed C10?
Ray rust, that truck is purty!!!! My buddy has a flat bed on his 3/4 4wd. It is GREAT for hauling stuff. It would be alot easier to load a 2wd half ton though. HAHA

Re: Flatbed C10 (woodbed for sell)
Here is a wooden flatbed I built. Was working on the steel bed and built this to haul things around. Ended up leaving it on for like a year.
