I bought mouse poop with a K10
I need help with a couple of things.
1. The padding under the carpet is chewed up pretty good in a few places. Do people usually clean it up (like something just short of fumigation) and put new carpet over that or do they sell new padding that fits this truck? - I have the same question about the black cardboard at the back of the cab. It’s in mostly good shape, but I wanted to know if they sell new cardboard to fit this truck. 2. Without the SPID, how can I tell what colors my truck originally came with (paint and interior)? - I think the gray paint that was covered by the carpet and pad is original. I’m just hoping you guys can tell what the name of the grey is and what the name is of the interior color. The dark area of carpet covered by the sill plates seems like it would be close to what it would have looked like when new. Man now that I look at that it’s more than a couple of things, so thanks for bearing with me. Hopefully the pictures help. I apologize in advance if the pictures are sideways. Thanks -Vinnie |

Re: I bought mouse poop with a K10
I would just get new carpet and the cardboard. You can get both from USA1 Industries. You may think you have gotten all the mouse cleaned up, but them little boggers get into everything. Just gut the interior of truck, that way you know you got it all.

Re: I bought mouse poop with a K10
strip it down to the pan, scrub it out with simple green, 409, or whatever your favorite cleaner is and hose it out..
that way you can get the mud daubers out of the doors while you're in there ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

But I have to wait until tomorrow to get the roll bar out. My wife is helping me out. She doesn’t want to help me take out the 32 bolts until tomorrow.

Wear a n95 mask, the mouse poop is bad news on the lungs.

I am thanks. My folks’ neighbor passed away a few years ago from Hantavirus.
They traced it back to him frequenting garage sales and estate sales. From then on, I have always had that in the back of my mind when I’m touching stuff like this. |

Re: I bought mouse poop with a K10
Mice just seem to love these old trucks. We just traded in our 91 Suburban and it was a mess before I sort of cleaned it up. The mice had chewed a big hole out of the insulation under the hood, and used it to fill up the space under the driver's seat

Wear gloves too. Rodents are nasty dirty little critters that urinate everywhere they go.
Wash it out with Cholorine and copious amounts of water.
