Question Electric Fan Thermal Switch Advice

I installed a Perma Cool electric fan with the 19003 thermal switch that attaches to your upper rad hose. Ive tried two new switches and neither one works. Ive double checked all my wiring and even ran all new wires. Both times after trying them ive put them in water and boiled it with a multimeter attached and they never closed. Im running a 350 in my 71 with a short water pump. I do not want to try another perma cool product. Anyone have any suggestions or input on what they have used for a thermal switch for their fans????

I have flex-a-lite thermustats. $44.95 plus shipping. These feed into the top radiator hose fitting. I have had the one on my duel electric fans for over 6 years and it still works great. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
