th400 yoke question

Guys i,am switching from a th350 trans up to a th400 trans in my 1972 c10 with a 350 sbc. My question is what size u-joints come fron the factory. 1310-1330 or 1350. I have to buy a new 32 spline yoke.
Thanks again
bob

Re: th400 yoke question

It depends on what driveline combo your truck came with. Most small block TH350 trucks had 1310 joints.

I have a big block TH400 truck that has some 1330 joints and some 1350 in the rear driveline. So bust out your caliper and figure out what you have.

As you know, your driveshaft will need to be shortened, so pick whatever size you want and use that if you are replacing one end or having a new shaft built.

Re: th400 yoke question

the last time i did this conversion was around 1993 but I remember having to shorten the drive shaft that was on a 72 LWB C10 and the driveshaft shop put it the yoke and shaft together.
my latest 72 c10 now with a th350 has 1310 is all 3 joints
i would take the old joint to the parts store and see if they will match it up maybe that will give you an idea
