Polished trim Coating?

I can’t for the life of me, remember the name of the wipe on protectant, that one would use to protect the Aluminum Grill and Trim work, on my truck after I strip it down an refinish it.
I tried looking back at my old threads and did a search, but no luck
Thanks in advance

Re: Polished trim Coating?

No that’s not it.
It’s something like “Perma Coat” or something like that,
It comes in a white can with red letters.
You can get it Wipe on or spray on.
Supposed to be the best on the market
Thanks though

Re: Polished trim Coating?

How GREAT is that stuff?!?! Is it worth the $24 (cost + shipping? I bought a used original grille 2 yrs ago with one ding that my buddy (stud) knocked out. I’m just getting to the polish part now (after sanding every dang weekend for the last 4). It still has minor blemishes... BUT DANG- it looks great compared to the one on my truck and when I first bought this one that’s in better shape.

I’m debating whether to go with the Everbrite Perma Clear or just a rattle can lacquer clear from the auto-paint shop. Would the Perma Clear be better?

I remember your thread! It lasted until you got a new grille a year or so down the road. I was just wondering if it would be cheaper and quicker too shoot it with clear. However, this Protectaclear stuff seems to be the cat's meow... so, I'll give it a whirl. I think spraying clear has a chance of yellowing/fading, where Protectaclear isn't supposed to. Thank you!!

Yeah. My old grille was good driver quality but wanted something shinier.
Considered chroming the original until I heard it was $1,600!!
The permaclear did work well though.
Be safe Ya’ll
