sending units

Yes 87 trucks came with a fuel pump in the tank. As far as putting a in tank pump in a tank that did not come with one. Well I'll have to leave that for someone else to answer.

If you want an intank pump in a non-intank truck, you just need the sending unit from an 87 truck.

I just got done pulling a sender from an 87 truck. The lines on an 87 sender are: 3/8 suction, 5/16 return and 1/4" vent. The 87 fuel tanks for Throttle body injection have baffles in them to keep the pump submerged in fuel, if your tanks don't have these and you want an in-tank pump, I'd recommend getting the 87 tank from the wrecking yard.

Make sure the 87 you get the tank from isn't a diesel, they are like the 84-86 carbed trucks.

k, i think ill just modify the 88 sending unit i have, that wasn't a typo, im cutting 1 9/16 off both lines and then welding it back together, only 7 1/2 psi shouldln't have to be that strong.
