Re: brake pedal
Thnaks but all I can see is the gas pedal assm. I need a picture of the brake pedal assembly. I think I am missing some sort of pedal rubber stop so the pedal when released doesn't come up until the booster rod gets fully extended and there got to be some sort of flat plate that bolts to the hole in the petal to trip thee brake light switch. right now all I got is a bracket with the pedal hanging from it. it will swing 180 degrees if not hooked to the booster.

Re: brake pedal
Thanks so much. I have that bracket in a box of parts I did not know what they were. I bought this truck in pieces so thanks for the help. Is there any other brackets on the assembly that a rubber stop or something. I have a second unidentified bracket that looks somewhat like this one I need a home for.

Re: brake pedal
Those are the only two brackets on mine - nothing with any rubber stops

Re: brake pedal
Does (or did) the truck have cruise control? If so, for some years, there was a similar bracket that held a vacuum release valve that would let air in when the pedal was pushed. The cruise system used vacuum to hold the throttle open, so no vacuum - throttle gets released.
Also possible the PO was planning on adding cruise and had picked up some of the needed parts. |

Re: brake pedal
I think you are correct. The PO gave me a 1989 Suburban column with Cruise control. It looks a lot like the other brake light bracket with a hole in it for a switch . Great call. I apricate all the help. One more part identified.
