Rough new project
So, they’ve cancelled school for the rest of the year, and I have a very bored 15 year old son at home...we’re going to have a shop class this summer...here’s his new 1979 GMC step side pick up... rusty, rough, and a non-running 6 cylinder 3 speed drivetrain.
As found in the pasture It’s home, lucky for me the farmer wanted to keep the topper... |

Re: Rough new project
Nice find. Not nearly as rough as many. Keep us updated.

Re: Rough new project
Picked up a running 1965 230 engine...not banking on ever getting the original freed up, it sat for 13 years or so in a pasture without a valve cover on it...

Re: Rough new project
I've got three boys and none of them care much for helping and learning out in the shop. All three are good kids and are really active in sports but I'm always a bit envious when I see kids learning about turning wrenches.
This will be a great project and bonding experience for you both.

Re: Rough new project
I love the sripes on that truck. It will Church up nicely with a competent buffer of paint.
Please remove the tube bumper, and get a nice factory original for her. Please 😀 |

Re: Rough new project
I meant tube grille.
On pain killer right now, and I get loopy. Doing my best to stay off Amazon, and grabagun. Or my paid off credit card will cry. |
