Anyone Recognize This Seat Fabric?

I am looking for a source to purchase a cloth insert fabric very similar to the cloth insert in these photos. I believe the truck in the photos is still rocking a factory 1968 GMC seat cover and I really like the look. I have reached out to SMS auto fabric but I was curious what other sources you guys have used. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Anyone Recognize This Seat Fabric?

There may be others, but SMS is a great start.
Just FYI, if you are planning to order, SMS is running a 19% sale through May 15.

Re: Anyone Recognize This Seat Fabric?

Hey Grumpy, I forgot I posted that pic of my SMS swatches. My swatches are actually the Chevy fabric, which doesn't appear to be the same right-angle plaid pattern as what Graham posted.

Graham--I'm wishing now that my Chevy had come with this GMC plaid--I like it! Hope SMS is able to come through for you. I ordered my seat cover from them on the first day of the sale. Be sure you mention the sale, otherwise I think they'll give you full price. I asked them when I could expect it to be ready, they just said "summer."

For comparison, here's a wider view of the Chevy fabric:

Summer? I've been waiting for 2 years for a set of buddy bucket seat covers. I email them every 20 days to inquire
As to when they will be done. If you get yours in summer consider yourself lucky.

They didn’t say which summer!

Re: Anyone Recognize This Seat Fabric?

They do very nice work. I wait because when I do receive it it will be just as the factory did it and their quality is good. I wish they were a little more prompt. I have had a bit of things done by them and I have been happy with all of it

Re: Anyone Recognize This Seat Fabric?

Graham, have you heard from SMS about this fabric?

Chewy, your order must have some special circumstances, I can’t image 2 years (and counting) is their standard turnaround time for an order?

I have not hear back yet. Hoping this week, I think they are short staffed with the stay at home order

You are correct on SMS being downstaffed.
I spoke with Leslie (from SMS) a few weeks ago and she did confirm most of their employees were not there due to the virus situation.

I mentioned this in another post, but for what it's worth.
I do realize their lead times may be long, but I'll give them kudos for customer service for a situation I just had (about a week ago).

I ordered a 50th seat cover, ...over 2 years ago. Upon confirming an issue with the pattern direction I reached out to SMS. They replied asking I send back the covers and they will replace with new covers to correct. Sure, it may take some time, but I was pretty impressed with the response.

I'm actually having factory 68 buddy bucket seat covers made in the factory red colors. I have ordered 3 times from them and this seems to be the norm. At least for me.

That's good to hear. I plan on ordering raw fabric from them, I will have someone else make the covers. Hopefully that will help speed up the timeline.
