Help locating Dad's old truck

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping that one of you may be able to help me locate my dad's old truck. Below is everything I know about it.

He sold the truck around 1976 in Los Angeles. Short story, I was concieved in it...don't ask. I sure as hell didn't. My dad was involved with off road racing in the early 1970's and tricked out his truck for the period.

1963 C20 Long bed Stepside, small rear window
CA License plate MJS CVS
283 with 327 heads
4 speed
Wooden drawer built under the seat
Painted 1974 VW orange in the early 70's
Chrome grill and front bumper
White steel wheels
2wd but lifted with 1-1/2 ton tow truck springs up front to look like a 4x4
Off road lights mounted through cab roof
2 jerrycan holders mounted on each side step

The only pictures I've seen are on old slides 30 years ago. I'm not sure how to post them here.

I'm not sure if the truck still exists or if any of the details I described are still around but I'd love to find it if I can. This is the truck that inspired me to buy my 1962 k20 (build thread coming soon).

Thanks

Re: Help locating Dad's old truck

As to pics, do you have them? If so, or if you can borrow them, look up the local camera store. Some of them will do a slide-digital conversion for you.

Be aware, what your father was doing with his truck would beat the hell out of them. It's more likely than not your Dad's old truck has long since been recycled due to just being worn out.
