Re-Paint is done

Well this came out a whole lot flatter, 80 % less orange peel, and only a few spots to colorsand out. It's a little darker yellow, but I think it will be ok.

Nice!!! What did you do different from the other. The paint that you had to sand? What made for less orange peel?

Are you going to do anything else to it, Possibly have a guy pinstripe it?

I happen to like bright eyepopping colors.

New guns, for sure. (the other we had to finish with a primer gun)

I am not sure on what to do, if anything. I may pin strip ??/ I dunno.

Bill, that looks plain awesome!

Is the rear pan 'glass or steel? If it is 'glass, how did you make the transition from the plastic to steel smooth?

It's fiberglass, we just added fiber glass to the joints
and a top coat to smooth it out.

Thanks for the compliments guys, It's still got a while
to go before it's even close to being done.

I have a whole spare bedroom full of new parts to go
on it once I am done with the paint.

roll pan

awesome look'n truck!! love it.. i've got a glass roll pan with the ZR-1 vette lights, and whoever done the work to the truck tried doin what you done (smoothing it all out) and it just cracked right down the lines on both sides from the flex of the bed when it gets driven..

keep the great work up!

We molded the gaps first, then molded in 1/8" re-enforcment straps from the inside bottom of each fender wraping around 1ft. each side of the panon both sides, then layered about 2" of fiberglass on top of that to keep it from flexing so much.

So I hope it will hold.
