Stock dually wheels - what is the biggest tire you can use?
Hey everyone,
I'm sure this has been discussed over and over...but I have a 79 C30 that I converted to a K30. I need to get tires for it and I am wanting to know what tire sizes will work. The tires on it now are 215/75/16. I'd like to go with a wider and taller tire, but I'm not sure how wide or tall I can go without having issues. There's no lift on the truck and I just installed a Dana 60 front axle. Just wanting to make sure I know how wide and how tall I can go before I buy tires. Thanks in advance and I appreciate the help!

Make sure your tires dont run each other and your good...
I have 235/85r16 on mine...they are really close to touching..I've been thinking about adding a 1/4" spacer between my rims for good measure...but I dont like using spacers... When I'm loaded down is when it's the closest

I have 235 85 16 on my '86 K30 and that's probably max without spacers. They work well IMO.

Re: Stock dually wheels - what is the biggest tire you can use?
255/85/16 is a 33" tall super skinny .
235/85/16 is the 31.3" or so tall . 215/85/16 is the shorty . and any DRW that needs a spacer you should run the spacer with a hub centric ring built in to it to center the outer DRW rim . the DRW rims are HUB centered and NOT lug nut centered . if you move the outer wheel out you move it off the hub face that centers the rim up . also if you have the narrow c&c rear the tire cant be to much fatter or it will rub the leaf spring pack . my pics later will show how close . i got pics of the 255/85/16 on my old truck i will post later when i get home .

My 235s have about 1/8" between them...it had 7.50sx16s on it before and it looked like you could stick a finger between them
A do-over and I would go with a 225 or 215
