3/4 ton A-Arms on 1/2 ton Crossmember

Are the crossmembers from a 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton the same? Just the holes for the u-bolts and upper A-Arm bolts drilled a little bigger?

I am trying to put 2wd lift spindles from the '88+ series on a '70 pickup using a '73-'87 crossmember as a few have done before. I have a 1/2 ton front end but i need to use 3/4 ton lower a-arms. Hoping I can use the crossmember instead of searching out a 3/4 ton front end.

They are interchangeable. I have an x-member that was sourced from a 1/2 ton under my 1-ton dually.

As mentioned, the upper a-arm shaft mounting studs went from 1/2" to 9/16" for the HD trucks. I don't recall the lower U-bolt holes being different though.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
