400 engine

just picked up a small block 400 from a 75 van.it has the 509 casting.it will need to be rebuilt .Asking $200

Do you know anything about the motor?

Is it running?

Has it been overhauled/rebuilt before?

If I remember right the 509 block was a 2 bolt

Where would you find the 509 casting number on a 400?

The casting number is on the left rear of the block by the bellhousing behind the cylinder head.
