1969 Chevy C-10 Bed installation

I have a 1969 Chevy C-10 that I am trying to put the the bed back on. I have converted it to a wood floor. We have the front pan, sides and back peace bolted together setting on the cross members.

What is the best way to so about to start. The bed sets closer to the cab on the driver side. How to you make the lines look good? How much space should there be between the cab and the bed?

Thank you for your help

Just move the box around until the box is square to the cab. Then shim up if needed to match the body lines. I had to shim mine about 1/4".

Have you taken "criss-cross" measurements of the bed to make sure it's a rectangle with true 90-deg corners and not slightly trapizoidal?

Have not yet. What is the best way to get the bed sides lined up vertical?
