Deep rims with factory hubcaps?

On the opening page of this message board is a picture of a 1972 CST Blazer, blue with white top. Beautiful Truck!! It has deep rims with factory looking hubcaps. Rims are painted white. I would like to duplicate this look on a 1971 Custom Delux 4 x 4 short bed I am restoring. Does anyone make 15 x 8 wheels like this today and if so where do I purchase them. were they available when new? I have had the 71 for 25 years. Thanks for any info/ help in advance

Re: Deep rims with factory hubcaps?

They are off of the 1973-1991 blazers. Typically found often on military blazers. No one currently makes an aftermarket steel wheel that fits as well. Trevor

Thanks very much for the info. At least now I have a starting point to search for them.

Re: Deep rims with factory hubcaps?

Aren't the 15 x 8 6-lugs now being made? The wheels used to also be available in the aftermarket back in the day. GM also offered them on K10 trucks and Suburbans in the '70s. I think by the late-80s they were no longer offered. The mid-80s military Blazers are all I recall seeing steelies used on. I put 15 x 8 5-lugs on the '72 shortbed I bought in '73. They were Kelsey-Hayes I used to buy from a commercial wheel and chassis supplier.

Re: Deep rims with factory hubcaps?

I’m posting this from mobile so hopefully the link works. I’ve been eyeing these for my k10 but I’m still undecided. Should work with factory caps:

These don’t have the same backspace as the m1009 blazer wheels. It sucks them in close to the tie rod ins. It also changes the stance vs the gm wheels.

Re: Deep rims with factory hubcaps?

There is a guy close to me that widens 5 and 6 lug steel wheels to whatever width you want . I have a few he has done as well as the factory ones too. Mine are not for sale , just an option if you cant find any .

Re: Deep rims with factory hubcaps?

wheel vintique offers custom back spacing if the shelf model isn't what you need..

https://www.wheelvintiques.com/backspacing

you may find even after custom options like color and back spacing, buying new wheels thru a good retailer like summit is more economical than some of the more rare originals where you still run risk of finding bent, damage, corrosion, etc. and blasting and painting.. time, costs, originality, etc. is up to you.. lots of other wheel threads may have more reviews.. good luck!
