K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Hey guys, I need a picture of the bed mounts at the front of a factory 4x4 frame if anyone has a frame sitting around. I have access to a factory 2wd but I want to see either the 1st 2 or the first 3, (if it is a long bed.) From the top and from the side. I need them to be mounted on the frame. Thank you.

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Boxs are the same bed mounts will be the same 2 or 4 wheel drive

I believe the difference between long box and short box is the first row is deleted when you shorten the frame

Been a awhile since i seen stacy david do this on gears

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

I have shortened 2wd trucks but the front spring mount rivets are right in the way, or at least I thought they were. This is a suburban frame so everything is newly placed based on measurements only. So I got on YouTube and found a video of a wrecked short bed this guy is working on. I caught a couple of pics and it looks like the flat mount includes those rivets.sorry. for the bad photo but this is sorta what I'm talking about.

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Yes those mounts are the same on 2x4 and 4x4 trucks

Both 2 and 4 wheel trucks have the same frame width

Difference is 2x4 1/2 ton took a shallower rear cab bushing

K10 uses 3/4 rear style cab mount bushing

Unsure if the back frame rails are the same from burbon to pickup

If you use your two wheel drive as a template it will put you at the right level as long as the frame rails have the same profile

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Thanks. I think I panicked but with a factory shorty to reference coupled with your reassurance , plus the photo from YouTube, I'm drilling tomorrow. I now know which 2 rivets to whack and replace with bolts. I will update this with a picture in case somebody else needs it. BTW the suburban frame is the same. Just none of the mounts are the same. Front ones are in the same place, just not center drilled like a c10 or k10. But that's another story.

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Longbed 3rd bed mount on a 4wd is not the same as 2wd, it sticks out further because a 4wd frame is straight in the back, same as 1 ton and longhorns.
2wd frame has kickouts above the axle and has a narrower 3rd bed mount.

On a short bed frame the 3rd mount becomes the second mount.

So you are saying the "flat mount" is a different size or just mounted at a different spot on the frame? I know that the existing rivets are absolutely not where the holes are on the short bed frame I am measuring off of. We cut these brackets off a long bed parts truck. This picture is off YouTube on the factory short bed. The mount looks the same, like you said, it does seem to be mounted closer to the edge by default.

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Also Randy500 , here is another YouTube picture of a restored long bed frame [k10), and if you compare it to the factory k10 short frame, I'm thinking it is just like a 2 wd, you will discard the existing front mount and use the middle one for your front one. It is rounded at the top, unlike the squared off middle one.

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Thank you to everyone who weighed in. I have them on my frame in the right spot. Still waiting to see how wide the semi flat mount is. If it is not a ton, I will modify my existing ones to work.

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

Approx hole centerlines From outside edge of frame.
2wd 7/8”
4wd 1 5/8”
I dont hink the 3rd mount plate is wide enough for moving, def not wide enough for drilling another hole.

I guess you have a suburban 4wd frame you are converting to short bed truck?

Re: K10 owners/ need a pick of bed mount

The 3rd mount plates look very similar 2 and 4wd but the 4wd is wider.

Yes, it is a suburban frame. Lots of little differences but not insurmountable
