Steering Column Firewall Plate? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I recently bought a '63 C10 that has an aftermarket tilt steering wheel. The problem is its missing the plate that attaches to the firewall. Any suggestions where to find one? I've been looking everywhere.

(I also know I have to relocate the emergency brake cable, I just haven't yet.)

I thought that was a rubber gasket that fit there, no plate.

I found a decent one several years back when a friend bought a cab for the dash. It wouldn't be too difficult to fabricate one. Here is mine for reference purposes.

I'm not aware of another style plate for the 63-66. I believe the 60-62 were curved and oblong in shape.

Ah, that pic makes more sense. Yep, should be fairly easy to fab.

Nick at Aspen is the man. The other part is a rubber seal.

How long does it take for them to ship items? Just curious, I ordered a part a week ago but haven't heard anything.

There is a similar diagram in my 1963 Chevy truck shop manual.

There are 2 different parts if you look closely. One is the tin plate that bolts down with 4 screws. The other part is dense foam rubber that seals the column to the firewall.
