Door clips should work, there is 2 different clips in the doors, what I will call a right and left. The tab that holds the rings together will be on opposite sides. The only difference with the original is the tab holding the rings is straight. I haven't been able to find them new but the left and right can be purchased almost anywhere.

I agree - I used door clips on my hatch.

Thanks Guys,

I went ahead with the door clips, but had to bend them a bit to get them straight.

It seems like all the one's I have been working with offset the rod. I know it's spring steel, and I broke a couple, but was able to work a few so that they would work.
